Dated "Jan. 1, 1957," and signed by the maker, "Bill Nokes," on the base. Deeply Handcarved, Naive Document or Letter Box; center front Rosette Knob turns, interlocking the base and lid, as a "secret" method of lightly securing the lid. 19" x 10" x 4.75" (48.26 x 25.40 x 12.06 cm).
