French Couture Fashion Engraving Satin Mat 19th Century

Perfect for the lady's boudoir, dressing room, powder room; 19th Century engraving of "La Mode," (fashion), for both the male and female. Description, in French, details the couturier (the designer) of each fashionable item, and gives the address where the costumes may be found. We assume this is "gentle" riding wear of the day, as horses are in the background, the gentleman holds a riding crop, as well as hat, and the lady wears a riding chapeau (hat). There is darkening around the edges of the engraving, and very light staining (unnoticeable to the casual observer) to the satin in the lower left corner, pictured. Image is apx. 5" x 8.5" (12.7 x 21.59 cm), beautifully matted and framed in early 20th C. beaded and gilded wooden frame, to 12" x 16" (30.48 x 40.64 cm). Some wear and scuffing to the frame. Frame c. 1920-1940. Engraving c. 1880-1900, $18 US Shipping.
