Oil Painting L Guetthoff 1960 Paris Listed American
"Montmarte Paris, LaRue Norvins, Sacre Coeur Basilica." Original oil painting on board, Laurence Guetthoff, listed, (20th Century American, died, Tucson c. 1980). Interestingly, the 18" x 24" (45.72 x 60.96 cm) painting on artist board is suspended outward .75" (1.90 cm) from a background of orange over masonite, and framed (original) to 24" x 31" (60.96 x 78.74 cm). Compare this painting to those of Utrillo. Excellent condition. Dated beneath signature, "1960." Shipping quote on request.

About the Artist: Guetthoff resided in Tucson, and made his living as a commercial artist; he was the artistic originator of the "Jolly Green Giant." His modernist, impressionistic style paintings, often of French scenes, where he visited, were painted for both pleasure and profit. Laurence Guetthoff is listed in major art indices. His first name is often erroneously spelled, "Lawrence."
