Parian Porcelain Bust of Psyche Robinson & Leadbeater
Intensely exquisite nude bust of Psyche by one of the world's most highly regarded 19th Century makers of Parian Porcelain, Robinson & Leadbeater, Stoke-on-Trent, Great Britain. "R & L" mark incised within their oval cartouche on verso; "Psyche" incised on front. This precise and delicately created piece measures 7.5" (19.05 cm) tall, 4.75" (12.06 cm) at the shoulders, and the base is approximately 2" (5.08 cm) square.

In Greek Mythology, the Goddess, Psyche, eventually became the adored wife of Cupid, after she endured many spells, trials and tasks imposed upon her by the jealous Aphrodite. Aside from normal manufacturing anomalies, our Psyche is in superb condition. She was created between the years of 1885 and 1890. $20 US Shipping. [see 3563 for more parian ware]
