Exceedingly rare laquered wooden food serving tray from Qing dynasty China, probably 17th century. Octagonal shape and with carved feet, raised carved relief panels, very old remnants of red and black lacquer. Fantastic patina and signs of generations of use. Very difficult to find surviving examples this old.

A high country ca 1835 Sheraton style chest in thick solid cherry and curly maple. Made in Cass County, Indiana in 1835. Signed with provenance. Attributed to James Henry, born circa 1804 in Tennessee, arrived in Miami Township in 1832-33 and settled next to David and Catherine Berry Miller, also amongst the earliest settlers in the county and the original owners of the piece. Absolutely superb and one-of-a-kind quality in this watch hutch or pocket watch safe, finely done in mahogany with bonnet top and canted corners, also whalebone or ivory ball feet in front and turned, ball foot in rear. Features original green paint on weathered cypress and rusty iron brace supports in fantastic patina. Interesting conversation piece and rare object from old Louisiana.
