Handcarved tribal slingshot from rainforests of Guatemala in rare form of bujo or an owl. Measures approx. 4 inches. Shows wear and rich patina, intricately notched and carved feather relief. May have had glass eyes at some point, nicely rounded indentations remaining. Fantastic features in rare form! Ca. 1930s.

Wonderfully original and fully intact, carved hardwood box from India, dates to the second half of the 19th century. Fantastically carved into a lotus shape, with a raised carved lid which pivots on one early machine made nail (certainly imported to India from England at that time). Patina is aged and darkened and interior includes ancient residues from usage over about a century. It is getting hard to find the real thing from India but this is it. Hand forged hasp lock top...

Chinese Export Turquoise Blue-Green Glazed Lion-Dog Figure Kangxi Period, 1662 - 1722
Fantastically rendered, this amusing lion or dog standing on small artemesia leaf, all thickly glazed in turquoise, eyes picked out in black and white. A very challenging glaze to control, this one shows evidence of support underneath. Kangxi Period, circa 1662 - 1722. Sweet form in perfect condition.

18TH - 19TH CENTURY PORCELAIN MUKOZUKE IN FISH FORM
Superb pair of blue and white Arita or Imari Japanese porcelain mukozuke, wonderfully decorated in vivid blues and featuring upswept porcelain formed tails which serve as handles. Measuring about 5" by 3" wide by about 2" high at the terminating point of the tail. Blue floral design in cavetto. Reverse is unmarked, mail is painted blue underneath as well. No cracks, repairs or discolorations.

Fantastic example of this desirable form of hand-carved slingshot from Guatemala and dating to the first half of the 20th century. Fantastically carved into profile of resplendent quetzal, the national bird of Guatemala. Measures approx. 4 inches long. Slight residue on top where original gum rubber deteriorated, easily removed with wax. Superb oily patina from use. Great example. Ca 1930s.

Octagonal shape and with carved feet, raised carved relief panels, very old remnants of red and black lacquer. Fantastic patina and signs of generations of use. Very difficult to find surviving examples this old.
