Art Deco GE Alencon 6H02 Cobalt Blue Clock
American Art Deco clock. Circa 1938. Marked General Electric, model #6H02. Demi-lune shaped, cobalt blue mirrored and transparent glass clock with central floral motif. Chrome ball feet. Metal encased works with easel back. Measures approximately 16 1/2" x 7 1/2". Minor losses to silvering consistent with age. Pencil point flea bite to lower right edge. Rewired. Working condition. Frequently attributed to various industrial designers of the era, including; Rockwell Kent and Walter Dorwin Teague, the design patent on the floral motif and numeral design was awarded to John P. Rainbault. Rare find in exceptional condition.
