A NEO-BABYLONIAN CARNELIAN CYLINDER SEAL
c. 8th-6th Century B.C.

A winged bearded hero faces right, wearing kudurrus (Babylonian style crown) and double wrapped kilt, stands in contest, right hand raised behind, left hand extended holding a winged griffon on hind, forepaws extended. Crescent above griffon. With vertical hole for suspension present.

In original and excellent condition.

.90 x .43 inches (2.60 x 1.10 cms)
