Middle Bronze Age; “Age of the Patriarchs/Time of Abraham”; c. 2100-1550 BCE

This short, slender axe is made of cast bronze and was designed specifically in response to the advancement of armor technology occurring at this time. Originally a wooden handle would have been placed through the eye of the axe head to create a powerful and effective close range combat weapon. So efficient and popular was this axe type that is found in abundance in warrior's graves from the Middle Bronze Age throughout Palestine.

In excellent condition with natural Holy Land patina present.
