| A pair of Russian silver & shaded enamel master salts by the 11th Artel, manufactured in Moscow between 1908-1917. Of typical circular form, each salt measures approximately 2 1/2" (6.3 cm) across and 1 1/4" (3.2 cm) tall. The exterior is engulfed in shaded floral motifs above geometric "dot-and-dash" bands, punctuated with flowers. The earth-tone grounds are embellished with raised silver droplets. Each clearly marked for 84 standard silver, Moscow 1908-1917 manufacture and a scratched inventory number, each salt also bears a monogram inscription under its base. Despite some evidence of old repairs to the pinkish grounds, a delightful and attractive pair of larger salts by a renowned Artel. | ||
