| A small Russian silver and polychrome cloisonne enamel-on-gilt coin purse, manufactured in Moscow before 1896 by an unidentified manufacturer, "JA". In excellent condition, the exterior of the purse is enameled in traditional scrolling floral motifs, one side centering around a vacant cartouche (awaiting inscription) and the reverse an enameled central reserve; the edges are decorated with interlocking red and blue lobes. The interior is lined with silk-backed leather compartments in excellent condition. The purse measures 3 1/8" (8 cm) by 2 1/8" (5.4 cm) and weighs 4.17 oz (118 grams). | ||
