| Russian silver and plique a jour enamel jeweled kovsh. Of traditional form, the upper lip of this fantastic kovsh is wrapped with a stippled gilded band decorated with meticulously executed multicolored plique a jour enamel insert, punctuated with cabachon stones. The handle is similarly decorated with cloisonné enamel designs and cabachon stones, Measuring 4 1/2” long (11.5 cm), the kovsh is in perfect condition and weighs 2.18 oz (61.8 grams); it is marked under the base for ST Petersburg manufacture in 84 standard silver pre-1896. The makers marks are unclear, but possibly NL (Cyrillic). Excellent. | ||
