| A superb Russian silver and shaded enamel bowl, decorated in the Pan-Slavic taste, a style exemplified by Feodor Ruckert, against deep green ground. Of conical section, the top rim is bordered with a band of translucent green enamel highlighted with oval and triangular decorations. The base is similarly bordered with a band of shaded lilac enamel, punctuated with alternating green and brown rectangles and over-gilded in the Pan-Slavic taste. Nicely gilded inside and out, the bowl rests on three bun feet and measures 3 1/4" (8.25 cm) across the base by 1 3/4" (4.5 cm) tall. It is in mint condition and weighs 4.2 oz (119 grams). Clearly stamped for manufacture by Vasiliy Naumov in Moscow between 1908 and 1917. | ||
