| Delightful Russian silver cigarette case by Nikolai Alexeiev, made in Moscow between 1896 - 1907, enameled in large scale floral motifs against stippled gilded grounds. Displaying Alexeiev's high-quality shaded flowers, the case is particularly heavy for it size (3 7/8" by 2 3/4" or 9.85 cm by 7cm), weighing in at 5.5 oz (155 grams). It is marked in the field on each half and is strongly gilded inside, still bearing an original elastic strap! Edged with turquoise pellets, the thumbpush has a red glass insert.
