| Superb Faberge gold ladies cigarette case, workmaster Henrik Wigstrom. Of traditional oval section, the exterior of the 14K case is engine-turned in a fish-scale pattern; the lid is fitted with a jewel-set thumb-push and a four-color matt gold wreath of roses, set with four single-cut diamonds. Each end is embellished with varicolored gold band of leaves and the end surfaces, engraved in cross-hatched guillochage; note the hinge, only visible when the case is open. The polished interior in engraved with a presentation name and each half is marked; the lid is struck FABERGE (Cyrillic), HW and a left-facing kokoshnik (indicating 1896-1907 manufacture). The body is marked H.W. and in a single oval cartouche, 56 zolotnik gold content, left facing kokoshnik and appropriate assayer marks. The case has been inspected by well-respected authorities and confirmed as authentic Faberge, by workmaster, Henrik Wigstrom. Weighing 2.87 oz (81.3 grams), the case measures 3 7/32" (8.2 cm) by 1 13/16" (4.6 cm). Condition is excellent overall; some minor pocket wear. | ||
