| Unusual and exceptional kovsh by Ivan Khlebnikov, decorated with shaded cloisonné designs highlighted with plique a jour inserts. Enameled to the interior, the central reserve has expansive fields of translucent lilac & lime-green enamel over detailed engraved patterns. The flat trefoil handle is enameled en suite. The multicolored plique inserts are meticulously executed. Measuring approximately 7 ½ “ (19 cm) in length, 3 11/16” (9.4 cm) wide and 2 1/8” (5.4 cm) tall to the top of the handle. Marked under the base for Ivan Khlebnikov, Moscow manufacture between 1896-1907 in 88 standard silver, the kovsh weighs 6 oz (170 grams). Fabulous. | ||
