| A Faberge silver & guilloche enameled cigarette case by Andre Adler, manufactured in ST Petersburg between 1908-1917 in 88 standard silver. Of traditional form, the exterior of the case is entirely covered in a silvery-blue enamel over a wavy machined surface and highlighted with a diamond-set thumb push and a band of acanthus leaves at each end. The interior is appropriately gilded and marked. Measuring 2 ½” (6.3 cm) by 3 ¾” (9.5 cm) by 5/8” (1.5 cm), the case weigh 6.8 oz (192 g) and shows some faint surface scratches, consistent with use. Additionally, the case has had some very minor professional restoration. The case comes with a letter of authenticity (obtained by a previous owner) from Tatiana Muntian, curator of the jewelry collection at the Armory, the State Kremlin museum in Moscow, author of "The World of Faberge" and a leading Russian expert on Faberge. | ||
