Measurements: 2 1/2" tall x 2 1/4" body circumference x 1 1/4" base circumference

With very little wear to the copper lustre glaze, even on the handle. No chips, hairlines, or repairs.

But, the best detail about this little pitcher, is the underwater setting with plants, waves and a pair of beautifully detailed fish.

Made in England (signed Lancaster,Ltd) at the beginning of the 20th century.

Dating from the late 1800's, this type of shaving mug was called a "scuttle." I believe that the blank is either German or French. These white blanks were purchased to be decorated by Victorian ladies in their homes...

What a charming pair of blue and white cats - and a very puzzling pair, also. Why is there a handle and an opening in the back of each cat (the fingers of one's hand fit neatly into the handle so as to be able to pour), BUT there is no opening for liquid to pour out of????!!

Note that each cat has a different porcelain mark...
