Jars such as this one were often part of a lady's vanity set which might include many different sizes of jars, bud vases, clocks, pin trays, etc. This jar is a single...

English Hallmarks: Birmingham, 1917. Maker's mark : C & C
Photographed unpolished except for photo #2. I took the second photo after polishing the frame because looking at the first photo, the frame appeared to have several large dents, WHICH IT DOES NOT. The only "damages" are two very tiny dimples at the top edge of the frame - right and left sides...

This is one of the most beautiful and ornate of the Art Nouveau designs produced by the Gorham Silver Company in the late 1800's. The design is a combination of all that is Art Nouveau: shells, scrolls, leaves, flowers, fruit, puti and a semi nude woman holding a lyre...
Measurements: 6" x 1/2" at the widest dimension - WEIGHT: 1.3 oz.
Hallmarked with the number 12 and "S.R." I have been unable to identify the country of origin, but I purchased two yad from the same estate and the other was pre-1900 Germany.
The torah pointer or YAD (the Hebrew word for hand) is part of the Jewish ceremony of reading a portion of the torah. It is a decorated rod used in the synagogue to indicate the text of the torah that is being read in the day's service...
Measurements: 1 1/2" x 1 1/8" x 3/8" - WEIGHT: 1/2 oz.
Clearly marked "sterling" but no manufacturer's name.
I date this adorable postage stamp box to the early 1900's. The ring and jump ring suggest that the box was used on a chatelaine. Now it could be used as an unusual pendant or simply carried in a pocket and used to hold pills. Very secure closure.
Arts and Crafts Movement style lettering.
Measurements: 3/4 troy oz. of sterling
1 1/8" x 1 1/2" x 2" - DEPTH: 1/16"
Dating to the early 1900's.
Elegant repousse design - almost like wings or the rays of the sun.
Crimping marks on the back of each corner where it was applied to.......?
Photographed unpolished with original patina.***Note: view my two previous items to see other corners and get one idea as to how they may be used.
Measurements: 6 3/8" x 3" x 3/8" depth
Weight: 41.1 grams
Clearly marked with the Shiebler "S" with double wings and the word "sterling" - also the number 9597.
The gold wash (vermeil) over the silver is in good condition considering the age of this pin tray. Silver shows through at some of the high spots, but disappears when the piece is polished...
Measurements: 2 5/8" x 3 3/4" @ 2 1/4 oz. of silver
Hallmarks indicate Dutch/Netherlands origin with 2 date marks: one is an "M" for 1845; the second is found on the tongue of the buckle and is an Old English style "D" for 1885. (The second mark is not shown in the photos.)
Undamaged and without repairs. Shown unpolished.
The design is a casting of a series of urns, women in fancy headdresses, and laurel leaves with fancy scrollwork all around.
Measurements: 2 troy oz. of silver.
2" tall x 1 3/8" diameter base and 1 1/2" tall x 1 " diameter base. Hallmarked on the inside and outside of each goblet and under the bases.

In very good overall condition except for two missing tabs which hold the coin into the frame. Even with the two tabs gone, the coin is solidly held in place.
The coin is in very good condition: crisp and clean with very little wear.
Information on this 1901 coin is that it is a commemorative showing Wilhelm Koenig and his wife Augusta...
Measurements: Total length: 6.5" Width of mesh fob: 3/4" Diameter of coin: 1 1/4" Weight of coin: 18.5 grams of .900 silver

Measurements: 2 5/8" x 2" x 5/8"
Very highly detailed repousse style designs - back as well as front. Marked: "Made in England" and "Best Nickel Plated"
All of the springs are in good working order.
I am dating the piece to the early part of the 20th century, although you who know about English coins, etc. may have a more exact idea.
Measurements: 3" long when closed x 7/8" diameter
This is a well marked Unger Brothers piece. I have been using it to house my lipstick, but I am not sure what the original use was, although I was told recently that the case was used to hold hairpins.
While the piece is designed with the traditional Unger Brothers nouveau style filigree, the silver is very thick and strong. The silver is unbroken and very usable...
Measurements: 3" x 1 1/2"
Marked 800 with two other illegible hallmarks.
This is a beautiful chatelaine mirror with the original beveled mirror. As you can see from the photo, the silvering is flaking off of the mirror.
The back of the mirror shows an idealized European pastoral scene of shepherdess, two sheep and gentleman with pan pipes. Good, strong detail.
Tassel was attached when I bought the mirror, but I believe it is a later addition - though not new.
