Measurements: WEIGHT: 1 troy oz. sterling - LENGTH: 6" - WIDTH: 1/2" tapering to 1/4"
This letter opener was purchased in Arizona in late 1950's - early 1960's. The design and hallmarks indicate that the opener was created by a Hopi silversmith - although I have not been able to identify the specific silversmith by the hallmarks of a sun and bear claws.
Clearly marked "sterling" and in excellent, undamaged condition.
4" tall x 6 1/4" top diameter x 2 3/4" base diameter
An interesting piece of vintage kitchen cookery with wonderful advertising, instructions, and clear illustrations.
Undamaged even though 100 years old! No chips, cracks, hairlines. Only the string closure is missing (and according to the instructions you can use soft bread as seal if you don't have any string).
