Measurements: LENGTH: 8 1/2" - DIAMETER OF LENS: 4" - DIAMETER OF HANDLE: 7/8"
A classic style of desk magnifier with good optics. The handle is stag horn; the repousse band at the join of the handle and the lens is hallmarked as English silver although so worn that I can read nothing clearly except the letters : H.H.
The band encircling the bottom of the handle is of a different repousse design and not marked as silver...

This document, referred to as a "quit claim" is a bill of sale for land in Boston, sold to Dr. Jonathan Mountfort. It is possible that the building on the land was an apothecary or that the term apothecary refers to the profession of Dr. Mountfort...

A lovely Edwardian/Victorian sewing accessory used to measure hems, cuffs or ???. The clip located on the ruler has a tight, functional closure. And the ruler has very legible markings. The metal of the ruler segment is silver plate over base metal.

Measurements: 2" long including jump ring x 3/8" diameter - WEIGHT: 1/2 oz. sterling silver.
Clearly marked with the Unger Brothers maker's mark.
The jump ring and loop on the top of the needle case indicate that this piece was probably part of a chatelaine sewing grouping.
c. 1880-1910
No damages or repairs.

Lovely surface patina and age wear.
Dating to the late 1800's - early 1900's.

Measurements: 6" long x 3 1/4" widest dimension x 1 1/2" diameter grinding cylinder
This spice grater was made prior to 1900 and is probably American. It works well - the screw clamp and the turning handle.
No damages or repairs. As usable today as it was 100 years ago!
$465.00
In very fine condition with a working, original thermometer.
Lovely patina showing the wear of years of handling (particularly to the blackened surface of the Blackamoor child).
I believe that the piece is Continental although there is no foundry mark so country of origin is just a guess on my part.
Dating to the late 1800's or very early 1900's.
