c. A very French style (Louis XVI?) design dating from the early 1900's. In very good, unpolished condition, with original, undamaged cushioned velvet lining.

The delicate miniature portrait and the pink, marbled background are both lithographed onto celluloid. The metal is gilt over a base metal - probably copper.
