I am dating this AMAZING necklace to the 1960's-1970's when the original owner was traveling the world as an actress with a touring company.

All of the gold is marked as 18kt.

The highly detailed and very three dimensional pendant design is of a pharoah, four hieroglyphic tablets, winged solar disc, sceptres, ankh, and "ba" or the symbols of the dead pharoah...

Each button is marked as 14kt and set with natural Swiss lapis showing flecks of gold throughout each stone. The setting is a full cap bezel "embroidered" with two lines of gold "thread."

This chalice form is hand hammered with applied top and base rings. The top edge is decorated with square and round repousse plaques which have been enameled (some enamel "as is"); the round plaques are centered by semi precious stones: moonstone, opal and mother of pearl.

In "as found" condition except for having professional conservation done on the base ring...

Guaranteed as Art Deco (1930's) vintage.

Metals: steel "arms" with solid brass ball and cast iron center support. The metals are solid; not plated, and have been lacquered to preserve surface finish.

Cast iron log rest back braces are in good, usable condition.

Graceful, sculptural form in the best of Art Deco design.

Lovely three dimensional figural brooch of a pair of Chinese or Balinese theatrical dancers in full costume. The brooch is centered by a disc of undyed, very translucent Imperial Jade, which is then centered by a clear and bright 1/4ct diamond. Rubies and more diamonds add to the design...
