Measurements: 3 pages: one page - 12 1/2" x 8" hand written on both sides; two half pages - 8" x 6 1/4" written on one side only; with the original document envelope.

This document, referred to as a "quit claim" is a bill of sale for land in Boston, sold to Dr. Jonathan Mountfort. It is possible that the building on the land was an apothecary or that the term apothecary refers to the profession of Dr. Mountfort. The amount of sale: 34 pounds, 18 shillings, two pence.

As you can see from the photos, the document is in good, legible condition with yellowing to the paper and a small bit of foxing. Unfortunately, the square seals are blank.

The handmade envelope has a tear at the top from repeatedly inserting the quit claim, I assume.
