Measurements: 2.5 grams of 12 kt gold - 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" plus the 3/8" bale The design of this music award/charm/pendant is that of a Gaelic or Celtic cross centered on the front with a hand engraved and very detailed picture of a floor harp, framed by two sprigs of laurel leaves. The edges of the cross are also hand engraved. The bale was riveted to the charm - a construction which indicates that this was a "quality" piece of jewelry. The text reads: Musica/Summa Cum Landis. The reverse of the charm reads: to Lucy Huynes - from her teacher - Adeline Duhring. In very good, legible condition with only a slight crease to the surface and the very slight surface abrasions consistent with age and wear. Both the crease and abrasions are easily polished out. However, as always, this item has been photographed unpolished. A very special New England estate purchase dating to the late 19th century. |
