From the photos, you will see that I did not polish the locket, although I have in the past and it polishes clean and bright.

The body of the locket is gold filled. However, the tiny balls centering the floral decorations are gold. This was an interesting and commonly used design technique called "gold top." The process allowed jewelry makers to create affordable jewelry that looked like the all gold pieces owned by the "gentry."

The interior has two places for photos. One side has the original glass and bezel.

This type of locket was commonly used with a "book" chain. Hence, the large jump ring.
