Measurements: 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" - 11+ grams of gold - 8 three point diamonds - 1 cultured pearl This is a very classic form in the shape of a pansy centered by diamonds and a pearl. Very three dimensional. Finished in the florentine design so often used in the 1960's, and edged in bright gold to set off each petal. This type of brooch was also called a "pearl enhancer" and if you look at the photo of the back of the pin, you will see why. Large pearls were actually strung through the double loop while smaller pearls passed through the loop and settled over the central pearl. Classic elegance for those of you who enjoy Mid Century Modern design. |
