Decorated with a guilloche design of white enamel enhanced with a geometrical pattern, these sterling silver gilt cufflinks are an example of the fine work of Aksel Holmsen. A curved bridge bar securely connects each side. The enamel shows no loss or scratches; there are some small areas of tarnish along the edges of the silver, which has retained its gilding. The cufflinks are marked on one side of the bridge bars with the term Norne and on the other side with 925 for silver content as well as Holmsen's mark for his Sandefjord, Norway, workshop. The larger sides of the cufflinks indicate the country and sterling on the reverse; they measure 7/8 inch long by a little over 1/2 inch wide. Weight: 11.3 grams total

This pair of 14kt gold, oval, two-sided cuff links is a very fine example of early 20th-century American jewelry-making. They are mounted with discs of mother-of-pearl, and each side is set with a tiny seed pearl. The edges are intricately engraved with geometric designs; the cuff links show hardly any signs of wear. The secure connecting figure-eight bars bear the maker’s mark of Larter & Sons, of Newark, NJ. They measure 5/8 inch long by a little over 3/8 inch wide.

These highly decorative cuff links, made by Gorham Co. of Providence, RI, feature deeply embossed scrolls enhanced with green enamel paint. The bar on the back of one of the links looks to have been replaced, though it appears to be of the period. While the bar on one is marked sterling, the bar on the other appears to have been silver-plated, with most of the base metal now showing. All of the discs are marked on the reverse with the Gorham sterling mark, the 1898 date mark and the number 120. They measure a little over 3/4 inch long by about 1/2 inch wide.
