An elegant, early 20th-century pin decorated with tour á guilloché enamel within wire reserves. A mauve zigzag pattern borders a diamond-pattern white center bisected by silver wire and a band of mauve. Gold stars and flying birds are embedded around the edge and at each end. It has a strong pin stem that hooks into a hooded C-clasp. The back is marked sterling and ‘Genuine Cloisonne’; it bears the maker’s mark of Watson Co. of Attleboro, MA. The pin measues 2 inches long by 1 ¾ inches wide. Weight: 9.9 grams

Set with nine square, faceted garnets mounted on an openwork silver frame nicely detailed with molded flowers and beads. The silver retains a light layer of gilding; the stones are in lovely condition with points intact. On the reverse are some indentations that may be obscured marks and signs of a removed watch hook. The C-clasp is quite sturdy and secure. The brooch measures 1 ½ inches across. The dating is conservative.

Set with four pieces of green art glass to resemble jade, alternating with Egyptian motifs. The central oval piece is flanked by applied openwork lotus blossoms; the sides exhibit applied elongated elements, possibly symbolizing the eye of Ra. The bracelet is probably American and is marked sterling. The glass stones show signs of wear; the smaller ones have lost their polish and the largest one is quite scratched. None show any signs of cracking or instability in their bezel mountings. The bangle measures 3 ½ inches across, with a 7 1 /2-inch internal circumference. The width varies from ¼ inch at the sides and back to ¾ inch at the front.

A delicate sterling silver bracelet of lavender cloisonné enamel panels enhanced with rhinestones, alternating with square-mounted rhinestones. The edges of the panels are textured to give the feel of milligraining. The bracelet is well made, with scrolled details in the enamel work, and securely soldered connecting links. It has a good heft, despite its delicate appearance, and an original spring-ring clasp in good working order. It is marked sterling on the back. The bracelet measures about 7 inches long. Gross weight: 12.6 grams

Decorated with turquoise tour a guilloche enamel work, with round white enamel accents around the perimeter. The enamel is in excellent condition, save for two tiny dark spots on two of the round white decorations. It is marked sterling on the back and features a secure C-clasp. The shade of the enamel appears to vary in the photo, but it actually is the same consistent, vivid turquoise throughout the pin. Also, the pin appears to be gilded in the photo, but it is not; the back is highly oxidized. It measures 2 ¾ inches long by 2 3/16 inches wide. Weight: 39.1 grams

A charming souvenir ring produced by Gorham for the St. Louis Exposition of 1904. It has retained most of its detail, and commemorates the Louisiana Purchase of 1803. The front depicts the head of Thomas Jefferson, who was president at the time of the Purchase. Inside the ring band is the combined Gorham mark, patent date of 1903, the official souvenir stamp, and ‘sterling’; the entire combined mark is stamped and raised. The inside also indicates a ring size of 6 ½, though it is a bit on the small side. Weight: 4.8 grams

This American sterling silver and enamel cross with a scrolled-edge is conservatively dated; it could be older. The chain is original and made of flattened, rectangular links; there is no clasp. It tests definitively for silver. The vibrant green enamel decoration on the cross is intact, and bears the usual minor flaws of handwork. The cross itself is quite sturdy, and nicely molded, though there are two casting flaws at the lower right (see photo #6). The ring at the top, as well as the bail connecting the cross to the chain, show wear, and will eventually have to be reinforced. The cross measures just over 2 ¼ inches long, including the top ring, by 1 3/8 inches across. The entire necklace, with the chain doubled, measures 15 1/5 inches long. The back of the cross is marked sterling. Weight: 22.3 grams; the cross alone, about 12.6 grams.

This piece of early 20th-century costume jewelry is as graceful and delicate as the gold and platinum ones that inspired it. The circular and scrolled silver frame is embossed and set with rhinestones of various sizes, with two larger rhinestones in bezel-mounted drops. All the rhinestones are intact; the surface finish of the frame is oxidized for a darker look, probably to more dramatically set off the rhinestones. The pendant measures a little over 1 ½ inches long from the top of the bale to the bottom of the lower drop; it is 7/8 inch wide. It is unmarked, but tests for a strong silver content, probably at least .925. Weight: 3 grams

This sterling silver bangle bracelet is beautifully decorated with deeply chased scroll work. It is of hollow construction and shaped in an oval so it can be easily slipped on the wrist. It bears the mark of Carter, Howe & Co., of Newark, NJ. Other than a small dent on the interior, the bracelet is in lovely condition. The opening measures about 2 1/2 inches by 2 inches, with an interior circumference of about 7 1/4 inches. The bracelet is a little over 1/4 inch thick. Weight: 12.6 grams

This eight-sided silver bangle is of hollow construction and decorated with repoussé roses and sheaves of wheat. The design is enhanced with deep patination. It has a secure tongue-and-groove clasp, as well as original safety chain. The clasp release is a small knob decorated with a rosebud. There are two hallmarks on the tongue that are hard to make out, but they appear to be European. The bracelet measures 5/8 inch wide; when closed, the opening measures 2 1/4 inches, and the interior circumference measures about 7 inches. Weight: 26.5 grams
