An impressive hinged bracelet with an industrial design based on machine-age influences. It is of hollow construction, with each angular piece connected by pins of base metal. The hidden clasp, composed of a hooked piece that neatly engages a hinge pin, seamlessly continues the alternating geometrical peaks of the bracelet. The safety chain appears to be original to the piece; the bale connecting the chain to the bracelet is slightly bent...

A set of three cuff bracelets, each composed of sterling silver frames bearing applied half-spheres mounted with abalone. They are unmarked, but test definitively for sterling and are probably Mexican. Each has applied silver balls at the terminals; each ball exhibits dents of various sizes, but none that are destabilizing or stress the metal. There is a roughness to the construction, and the shape of each bracelet is substantially intact...

Known as the ‘caviar’ design, it is composed of linked domed beads and has a smooth, undulant movement and a good heft. The tongue-and-groove clasp is in excellent working condition and bears the Spratling mark for 1944-1946. The surface exhibits a nice, soft patina from age. Designed with multiple thin wire hoops suspended from a curved, shell-like top. When worn, the shells are seen from the side; the full hoops are visible from the front. They exhibit a soft patina, with some wayward dark spots and beads of solder where each hoop has been closed. The screw backs are in good working order; they are marked with the AE enclosed by a heart-shaped M. Each earring measures 2 1/8 inches long by 1 ½ inches wide. Weight: 18.9 grams

A Victorian-influenced design of cast raised flower-shaped links with a large, heart-shaped drop. The heart is decorated with matching flowers, flanked by cherubs playing stringed instruments. The reverse of both bracelet and drop bear the mark of Margot de Taxco, for Margot van Voorhies Carr, as well as the eagle mark for Mexican sterling. The tongue-and-groove clasp is original and very secure for this substantial bracelet. It is bears the circular mark for Pedro Castillo, who worked for Spratling and Aguilar in the 1930s and started his own taller in the 1940s (per Bille Hougart’s ‘Little Book’ of Mexican silver marks, p. 41)...

The clasp is a secure hook and bar, and the hook bears the maker’s mark of MHV, as well as the silver mark of 9.850 and a mark for Mexico. The bracelet measures 7 inches long by 1 ½ inches wide. The back bears the maker's mark of a conjoined HT, an unidentified silversmith who also worked with Estela Popowski, as well as independently.
