This disc pin features a large faceted citrine in a bold prong setting. The stone has a light yellow-brown tinge and shows no signs of damage or wear. It is quite secure in its mount. The disc has a warm patina from age; the piece dates conservatively 1960-1970. The back has a secure rollover clasp and bears the marks for Mexican silver (eagle 42, circular 925 Sterling) as well as the maker’s mark for Los Ballesteros. There appears to have been a pendant bale or hook that has been removed...

It has the Finland date mark for 1972, the maker’s mark for Kultateollisuus Ky, the city mark for Turku, and the silver content mark of 830H. Decorative silver work marks these jaunty drop earrings. They are set with faceted amethysts and tiny piesces of turquoise on each hoop, and coral at the tops. They bear the circular maker’s mark of CEL and ME02 (see Bille Hobart’s book on Mexican marks, p. 217, 3rd ed.), and date around 1950-1960. The posts are very secure, as are the clutches. They measure 1 ¾ inches long; the hoops measure 1 inch in diameter.
