This studio piece features two engraved and oxidated textured designs on the main cuff, with an applied arching, overlapping band. Its distinctive, oblong shape is surprisingly comfortable and conforming to the shape of the wrist. It appears to have been hardly worn, and is nicely crafted. There is a machine-engraved maker’s signature, but it is very hard to read (possibly 'Carson'). It is also marked .925 for sterling. The cuff measures 1/4 inch wide; its internal circumference is 7 inches. Weight: 23.6 grams

A heavy, dramatic necklace composed of three rows of interlocking links soldered together. The outer rows are copper, and the middle row is brass; both metals have retained their luster. The brass clasp is very secure and is marked on the back Mexico with a partial Tlaquepaque’s, and the maker’s initials FCS underneath. The necklace measures 7/8 inch wide and about 18 inches long; it is slightly curved. Weight: 81.5 grams

Composed of four rectangular textured panels that are curved to fit comfortably around the wrist. This bracelet features an oxidized, textured surface with an unfinished look often associated with hand-crafted jewelry and at times, brutalist design. The pins holding the panels together are slightly bent, but are secure and contribute to its handmade look. The fold-over clasp is secure, and there is a safety chain, probably added later. The panels are each marked 925 for sterling silver content and measure 7/8 inch wide. The bracelet, when clasped, has an interior circumference of 8 inches. Weight: 38.5 grams

This long necklace is composed of delicate, forged-wire sterling silver rings measuring 5/8 inch across. Attached to it is a removable, hammered sterling silver pendant in the shape of an Egyptian ankh symbol. The pendant bears the maker’s mark of Calf & Dragon, an Evanston, IL, jeweler recently out of business, according to information on the Internet. The chain necklace, which resembles the work of Boston’s John Lewis, is not marked. While they may not have started out together, both pieces work well to make a very dramatic look. The necklace has a substantial length of 16 inches when doubled; the pendant measures about 3 inches long by 1 ¾ inches wide, making a total length of about 19 inches. Weight: 30.1 grams total

Formed as a dollar sign, this money clip is of a high quality in terms of thickness and workmanship. It bears the mark of R. Blackinton & Co., of North Attleboro, MA. This particular mark was reportedly used 1900-1967, so the piece is dated conservatively. There is also a number, 2555 H, on the back. The clip has a warm patina, indicating some age, but very few signs of wear. There is a tiny imperfection at the bottom of the dollar sign, from either an impact of some kind or a manufacturing flaw. It measures about 1 ¾ inches long by a little over 1 inch wide. Weight: 16 grams

Decorated with inlaid discs and squares of bone, horn and wood, in the manner of tribal or ethnographic art, this compelling long chain necklace has an exotic, sophisticated feel. The discs are decorated on both sides; the squares, only on one side. Each ring of the cable chain is completely secured with solder; the chain has no clasp but can be doubled. The dating is mostly likely 1950-1960, although it could be older. Doubled, the chain measures 28 ½ inches long. It is conservatively dated.

These delicate earrings are from the late 19th century and test as 14kt gold, so they are likely American. Each is formed as a scalloped disc, decorated with a delicately engraved leaf. The screw backs were added later, possibly replacing kidney wires that allowed the discs to drop just below the ear lobe. One of the screw back bars is slightly bent, but secure. Each disc measures about 5/8 inch across. Weight: 4.6 grams total

A commanding oval of what could be Southwest turquoise or agate is set in a sterling bezel mount with unusual curled, petal-like protrusions at the edge. The ring is quite comfortable; a wide band keeps it from turning on the finger. The stone is polished and features extensive marbling of a reddish-brown matrix on a light blue-green ground. The mount is secure, and the band is adjustable, with only a 925 mark to indicate sterling on the interior. It is a size 8. The stone and mounting measure 1 ½ inches long by 1 inch wide.

Composed of a hollow-cast rectangular top with a textured band, this ring is designed to sit horizontally, extending over an adjacent finger. It works best when worn on the fourth, or traditional, ring finger, so that it extends over the pinkie. It is lightweight and quite comfortable as a result. The underside of the top bears the Israel and sterling marks, as well as a maker’s mark of Rozin. The ring is a size 8; the top measures 1 3/16 inches long by 5/8 inch wide by about 3/16 inch deep.
