Hand-formed and hammered, composed of a single irregular band of sterling silver, culminating in a large looped top. The surface exhibits a nice patina with random scratches and tool marks; the hammering shows mostly underneath. The ring is marked sterling and bears the script mark of GemCraft. There is a GemCraft with a different mark based in Providence, RI, but it isn’t clear if that company performed handmade silver work. The top loop measures 7/8 inch wide by 5/8 inch high...

An intriguing design consisting of ribbed sterling silver bi-cone elements with ribbed bell-shaped drops that have ruffled edges. The top pieces swivel on a wire that forms a V-shape from which the bell forms dangle. (They are not actually bells, and don’t emit any sound.) The sturdy screw backs are marked sterling. Each earring measures 1 ¼ inches long. Weight: 8.8 grams total.

A simple, elegant circle pin composed of textured wire openwork, probably European. The glass coral half-beads exhibit no cracks, chips or other damage and are probably Bohemian-made. The pin is unmarked but tests definitively for silver. It has a secure C-clasp and is conservatively dated; it could be as early as the 1930s. It measures 1 3/16 inches across.

Oval cuff buttons decorated with horseshoes of inlaid dyed black onyx. They are probably American; the round backs show a sterling mark and possible maker’s mark for Ludwig, Redlich & Co. of New York. The surface exhibits the warm patina of considerable age, but the inlay shows no loss. The backs are well soldered and secure. Each oval button measures about ¾ inch long by ½ inch wide. Composed of a complex series of interwoven links, some cast to appear as wound with wires. The tongue-and-groove clasp is quite secure, and there are jump rings for connecting a safety chain if needed. The back of the clasp is marked Argentina with an obscured lozenge mark that most likely indicates silver content (the first digit looks like a 9). The bracelet shows a strong test for sterling silver, but since Argentina also produced .900 silver, that is also a possibility...
