his handmade pin is set with two sugarloaf cabochons of lapis lazuli, one that still exhibits some polish, the other quite worn. Both stones are intact and securely mounted in notched settings. The pin has a homemade look to it, especially the back of one setting that appears to have partial markings possibly relating to a different origin. Both settings and the connecting bar test strongly for silver. The C-clasp is very secure. The pin measures 1 5/8 inches long.

A hand-assembled chain necklace composed of tiger’s eye beads and silver rope chain, beads and cylinders. The tiger’s eye beads are secured by wound wire links; the other elements are connected by securely soldered rings. The spring-ring clasp is in good working order and is original to the piece. It is a very solidly made piece. It is unmarked, but all main metal elements test strongly for silver. Doubled, the chain measures 17.5 inches.

Composed of oblong and rounded sides decorated with Middle Eastern-style motifs of embedded silver vines, leaves and stars. The cuff links are unmarked, but test definitively for silver. The bridge chains are securely fastened and composed of figure 8-like links; the wood and silver decoration exhibit no cracks or other signs of wear. The rounded sides measure just under ½ inch diameter. They are dated conservatively.

A clean, modernist design characterizes this ring, which is composed of a graduated rounded sterling band inset with an irregularly shaped piece of teak or rosewood. It mostly likely dates from the late 1960s to mid-1970s. There is an unidentified triangular mark on the outer band. The ring tests strongly for silver, and is probably European. It is sized a 6 1/4. This outstanding bracelet, by renowned South American jeweler Antonio Belgiorno, is composed of slightly concave disks with delicately textured top surfaces. It has a substantial look and exhibits classic mid-century design. One side of the tongue bears the mark A Belgiorno, Buenos Aires, and an obscured rectangular mark that could indicate Industria Argentina; the other side indicates T27 and 900 for silver content in a diamond reserve. The connecting links are securely soldered, the box clasp is in good working order, and the safety chain provides added security. The texture surfaces of the disks have been left tarnished to enhance the design, but they could stand a very light cloth polishing. The bracelet measures 7 ¼ inches long; the disks measure ¾ inch in diameter and are 1/8 inch thick. Weight: 56.2 grams

Composed of a complex series of interwoven links, some cast to appear as wound with wires. The tongue-and-groove clasp is quite secure, and there are jump rings for connecting a safety chain if needed. The back of the clasp is marked Argentina with an obscured lozenge mark that most likely indicates silver content (the first digit looks like a 9). The bracelet shows a strong test for sterling silver, but since Argentina also produced .900 silver, that is also a possibility. It measures 7 ½ inches long by about ½ inch wide. Weight: 26.4 grams

This interesting silver ring features a primitive-looking figure set within a heavily oxidated rectangular mount, with what resemble Celtic knots at the shoulders. It is not marked silver, but tests as such, probably .800 or .835. It is marked made in Iceland, and is about a size 10 1/4. The top measures 5/8 inch long by 1/4 inch wide. Weight: 9.5 grams

This pair of cuff links features four buttons each formed as an eight-sided oblong shape, with an impressed design very close to engine-turned engraving. They are hinged on one side; the bridge bar is marked for .835 silver, with the maker’s name of Kosca, possibly an Eastern European firm. Dating is around 1950. Each button measures about ¾ inch long by ½ inch wide. Weight: 12.7 grams

With their centers of crossed silver wire, these cuff links have the look of stitched buttons. They feature mother-of-pearl discs with black enamel dotted borders. They bear European silver marks on the back, and though they are hard to make out, they likely indicate .800 silver. Each button measures ½ inch in diameter; they have sturdy bridge chains. Here is a well-made and nicely conceived silver pin by an unknown studio jeweler. The triangular base is impressed with a geometric pattern enhanced by oxidized surfaces of various metallic shades. A convex silver disk is mounted on the panel at a jaunty angle for contrast. The pin has a commercial rollover clasp in good working order. The back bears no mark except for a K in a triangle, most likely a maker's mark. It measures just under 2 inches wide by 1 1/2 inches high by 1/4 inch deep. Weight: 15 grams

Rectangular panels of mother-of-pearl, vertically incised, set in 9-kt. gold frames fused to sterling silver backings. Each button measures ½ inch long by 5/16 inch wide. The chains are securely attached, and neither the chains nor other attachments show any stress or wear. The cuff links are lightweight, but are sturdily made. They bear marks for sterling and 9-kt gold (the gold marks, which read ‘9 ct,’ are substantially worn), as well as the marks for Henry Griffith & Son, Birmingham, England.

This stunning bracelet is composed of an applied cast floral layer on a plain, hinged bangle bracelet, with a secure tongue-and-groove clasp and security chain. The tongue bears French import marks that guarantee a silver content of at least .800, and probably dates anywhere from the 1930s to the 1950s. The bangle measures about ½ inch wide with an internal circumference of just under 7 inches. Gross weight: 28.4 grams

Decorated with applied wirework rosettes, this hoop necklace has an Asian feel, but sports Austrian import marks (hard to see in the photo). It is continuous, and doesn’t appear to have ever had a clasp. The necklace has a nice weight and a dramatic, contemporary look. The Austrian mark for silver content is illegible, but the necklace is probably .800 or .835 fineness; the mark indicates a registration in Vienna. Doubled, it measures about 14 ½ inches long. Weight: 74.8 grams

This interesting bracelet is composed of abstract openwork panels, some of which have a tree-bark texture. There is a very slight layer of gilt to areas of the panels, which are connected by soldered rings. The spring-ring clasp is secure and appropriate to the piece. The bracelet bears the mark of ST92 on each link, and what looks to be an unidentified maker’s mark on one end. It is possibly European, around 1970, and tests definitively for sterling silver. The bracelet measures 7 3/8 inches long by about 3/8 inch wide. Gross weight: 10.2 grams
