A very modern looking Victorian Locket and Chain. The chain links are shaped in almost a modern way and its echos can be found in the design of Tom Ford's Gucci a few years back on in Hermes' collection of equestrian inspired jewelry. The locket is original to the chain and we can see a picture of the original owner wearing this very piece inside the locket. Like our Late Edwardian Silver locket and chain, this has both locket and chain together for almost a hundred if not over a hundred years. Most locket and chain offered in the market today have been separated and paired with different chains and lockets throughout the years.
--- SALE --- Victorian Silver locket and book chain. This particular book chain is heavier and longer than the average Victorian silver locket chain and with a hallmark on the chain which is also unusual. Combined with the photos inside the locket, we estimate this locket to be from the early 1900s and therefore more of an early Edwardian piece, or at the very most, late Victorian, and was imported (hallmark on book chain) and sold in continental Europe. Also note that the locket is decorated at the back as well.
