Fine Chinese Han Dynasty Burnished Pottery Cup

This fine & rare pottery cup was made some 2,000 years ago during the Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 220), or possibly a little earlier. It is made from a fine-grained grey pottery. This inner mouth and outer surface have a smooth burnished surface making it a real pleasure not only to view, but also to handle. Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Soldier Figure

This pottery figure was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is "heavily-potted" and made from a buff-coloured pottery that has been "cold painted" in a creamy-white pigment. It represents a warrior wearing armoured clothing and a hooded cloak.

It is of a good size with a height of 30 cm (12 inches). There is surface wear and loss of pigment but there is no sign of any restoration or repair.
