Fine & Rare Chinese Neolithic Pottery Bottle - Banpo (c. 4800 - 4300 BC) This superb and very rare pottery bottle was made over 6,000 years ago during the Banpo phase (c. 4800 - 4300 BC) of the Yangshao culture. A simple design but certainly an item of beauty. It is "heavily-potted" and quite highly-fired, having a distinct ring when tapped. It has a fine burnished surface, delightfully smooth to the touch. Height 19.5 cm (7.5 inches). Close examination suggests a discreet repair to the edge of part of the mouth and a fine horizontal hairline crack to the lower body, not at all obvious. Overall condition is exceptional; a lovely example in fine condition. *** TO ORDER THIS ITEM PLEASE EMAIL US QUOTING OUR STOCK NUMBER (see above) - WE SHALL THEN EMAIL YOU BACK WITH POSTAGE COSTS AND PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS *** *** FOR FULL DETAILS OF OUR GUARANTEE AND PAYMENT OPTIONS, PLEASE CLICK ON "Buying from us - All you need to know" ON OUR HOME PAGE *** |
