Large Chinese Han Dynasty Pottery Granary Jar with Bear Feet (206 BC - AD 220) This large and impressive pottery vessel, a granary, was made some 2,000 years ago during the Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 220). It is made from a fine-grained grey pottery. The surface has a silvery "sheen" to it in places. The cylindrical body has been decorated with four sets of deeply incised bands. It stands on three moulded bear feet. Height 37 cm (14.5 inches), diameter 25 cm (9.75 inches). There is minor surface wear and scratches in places.
