Japanese Woodblock Shunga (Erotic) Print. Utagawa School. 1830s.

5 3/8 x 3 7/8 ins. (13.7 x 9.8 cms) This is one of a group of Koban size Shunga prints we have listed which have been originally mounted in a folding album. They are beautifully printed to surimono standard with use of metallic pigments, much of which has oxidised as is usually the case with prints of this age. The prints are unsigned, as usual with shunga. They are mounted on gilt faces paper and thence onto thin silk-backed board. Condition is very good. PLEASE NOTE THAT ONLY THE THUMBNAIL IS CENSORED.
