Vietnamese 15th Century Blue & White Octagonal Jar
This eight-sided blue & white jar was made during the 15th century. It is "heavily-potted" and decorated in underglaze blue with alternating geometric and floral patterns around the body and a very attractive lotus leaf pattern around the shoulder.. The glaze is finely crackled. The flat base remains unglazed. Height 8 cm. Although it is in good condition with no repair or restoration, there is a little "nibble" to the edge of the inner mouth edge.
This is from a private Cambodian collection of nice quality Vietnamese 15th century blue & white ceramics we have recently acquired.
