Large Chinese Qing Dynasty / 19th Century Blue & White Batavian Porcelain Bowl (Ex. Lammers Collection)
This large bowl, or basin, was made during the 19th century. It is "heavily-potted" and of the type often referred to as "Batavian" ware, with underglaze blue & white decoration to the inner surface and a brown "cafe au lait" glaze to the outer surface. The inner decoration features geometric and flora patterns.
Diameter 28 cm (11 inches). This is a nice example of its type in good condition with no restoration or repair and a good ring when tapped.
This bowl is from the Lammers Collection: see images for more details.
