Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Enamelled Porcelain Bowl - Mark
This good quality blue & white porcelain bowl was made during the mid to late 16th century, c.1550 - 1570. The inner underglaze blue design features in its centre a scrolling lotus blossom pattern with a very well-executed trellis border around the inner rim. The outer wall was once elaborately decorated with red and green enamels but now only a "ghost" image of the original pattern can be seen, although there are still some remains of the original green enamel. To the base is a mark in underglaze blue.
Diameter 11.75 cm (4.5 inches). This bowl has a good ring when tapped and is in fine condition with no restoration or repair.
