Large Chinese Ming Dynasty 16th Century Blue & White Porcelain Bowl
This large blue & white porcelain bowl was made during the mid to late 16th century, c.1550 - 1570. The underglaze blue design features a scrolling floral pattern to its centre and a trellis border around the inner rim. The outer surface is decorated with two thin blue bands.
This bowl is a large example of its type with a diameter of 21.5 cm (8.5 inches). There is some damage to the rim, also to the inner foot ring, although this was most likely caused during manufacture. However, this bowl still has good ring when tapped and has no restoration or repair.
