Rare Chinese Neolithic Pottery Jar
This rare pottery jar was made around 3,000 years ago. Although we are not sure from which Neolithic culture it originates, it does have similarities to pottery of the Xindian Culture (c. 1200 - 500 BC). It has a convex base with two wide loop handles and a castellated rim. The entire outer surface has been decorated with repeated bands of lightly incised lines. A good size with a height of 18.5 cm (7.25 inches). There are chips to the rim and handle edges but no repair or restoration; a rare jar in very good condition. *** TO ORDER THIS ITEM PLEASE EMAIL US QUOTING OUR STOCK NUMBER (see above) - WE SHALL THEN EMAIL YOU BACK WITH POSTAGE COSTS AND PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS *** *** FOR FULL DETAILS OF OUR GUARANTEE AND PAYMENT OPTIONS, PLEASE CLICK ON "Buying from us - All you need to know" ON OUR HOME PAGE *** |
