Bagobo beaded belt with mother-of-pearls & brass bells

A woman’s beaded belt from the Bagobo (possibly Mandaya) people of southern Mindanao, Philippines circa the first half of the 20th century. The belt is made of multi-colored glass beads arranged in geometric patterns, two-inch long brass buckles also in geometric patterns, and mother- of- pearl platelets to decorate the ends of the belt. Tiny grooved metal bells hang from 5-inch beaded strings of matching colors. Commercial gray cotton cloth serves as back lining. The belt measures 34 inches long by 2.75 inches wide, and is in very good to excellent condition.
