Very large hand made modernist sterling snake ring by Novak, c.1970's. This ring is part of a one-of-a-kind collection by Novak, a modernist silversmith with original concepts and wonderful execution. RARE OFFERING:Copper and brass "CROWN OF THORNS" necklace by Art Smith, NYC modernist, c.1960. Necklace shows a contrast of metals and sizes. The base is a copper neck ring from which brass sticks and balls jut out at various lengths. The copper neck ring is made of 6 hinged moveable sections. Although unsigned, this necklace has been verified as made by Art Smith. A more complicated version appears in Messengers of Modernism on page 94 and on the cover...

Handmade sterling and ebony necklace on liquid silver chain by Betty Cooke. Very interesting scoop design flanked by two different size slices of ebony. Scoop is of good weight, oxydized in the center, and measures 2" by 1" by 3/4" deep. The liquid silver chain is of various lengths and the necklace measures 25" around and the fixed horizontal scoop middle section measures 3". Three demi circles set vertically with different finishes and linear markings are constructed within a framework of flexible silver tubing.
