Valdemar Engelhardt for Royal Copenhagen, 1915ca.
A flat bottle-shaped vase w. a small opening made of porcelain cowered in a thick, red-brown, slightly mottled glaze. This shape was made w. many, different kinds of glazes and is representative of work from the Art Noveau Period in Denmark. Signed: Valdemar Engelhardt * for Royal Copenhagen. Ca. 1910. H 14.5 cm, W 12 cm. Condition: Very good. Minor, unglazed spots on the underside. * Valdemar Engelhardt (1860-1915). One of the pioneers of modern, glaze-making in Denmark and an artist whose work dominated Danish Art Noveau porcelain from Royal Copenhagen until the 1st World War.
