Bronze titled "Semeur" by the well-known sculptor Dominique Alonzo (French, active 1910-30). The finely detailed figure depicts a man upholding his apron as he sows seeds. The prolific artist created romanticized peasant figures prior to his later Art Deco subjects. A student of Falguiere, Alonzo's works were often exhibited in the Paris salons. Bears mark for the Marcel Guillemard Foundry, also quite well-regarded. Signed upon the naturalistic bronze base. France circa 1910. 12" H.
