| This lithograph is from the series entitled "LaVille", the last series Leger was working on upon his death in 1955. His wife took the materials to Mourlot who published them in 1959. The images depict life in and around the city (laVille) and is the last series discussed in the catalogue Raisonne of Leger's lithography by Saphire. printed four years after the artist's death and signed in the plate. This edition consisted of 29 images in an edition of 200. Numbered 1-180 and I-XX in Roman numerals. This example is IX-XX and is signed in the plate lower right 'F.Leger'. Overall good condition with light foxing at margin edge. Dimensions: 26" H, 19 3/4" W, circa 1959. | ||||||
