L. Carvin Bronze Heron

Art Nouveau era finely detailed gilt bronze casting of a heron signed L. Carvin (Louis Albert) France 1870-1935. The heron among tall grasses rests upon a conforming attached wooden base. Impressed foundry seal for Jollet & Cie, Paris. Louis Albert Carvin was born in paris in the latter half of the 19th century where he studied under Fremiet and Gardet. He exhibited at the Salon des Artists Francais from 1894 to 1933. Frequently using animals as subject matter one of his best known works is "La Becquee" (A study of a bird feeding its young). Dimensions: 6" H, 4" W at base.
